If you love the authentic pies served at Angelina’s Pizzeria in Laguna Beach, then you’re sure to adore this new concept from the same chef-owner, Sandro Nardone. His latest eaterie specializes in traditional Italian dishes with inventive twists—think mortadella mousse cannoli and gnocchi topped with bluefin tartare. 1200 Bison Ave., Newport Beach, 949.520.7191

The Blind Pig Kitchen + Bar

The epic cocktails and innovative fare of this Rancho Santa Margarita staple have arrived in Yorba Linda. Book the chef’s counter to get an up-close view of the culinary kings at work, and put in an order of the can’t-miss mushroom saltado bowl topped with a six-minute egg. 4975 Lakeview Ave., Yorba Linda, 714.485.2593

Bronze Quail Restaurant & Bar

The tides are turning at Journeyman’s Food + Drink, which will rebrand with a new name and new leadership in early 2020. Executive chef Zach Geerson, lauded for his acclaimed six-course tasting menu, is making the move to Florida to focus on family and has appointed Mark Piepkorn to carry on his short but sweet legacy. Seasonal cuisine will be offered in the form of an a la carte menu that’s already garnishing buzz. 1500 S. Raymond Ave., Fullerton, 714.635.9025

Gracias Madre

Mexican cuisine has received a vegan-friendly makeover at this West Hollywood import, where the mezcal and tequila offerings are aplenty. Order a tequila-spiked Tepache Junglebird and dig into chef Alan Lazaro’s al pastor pineapple tacos. 1617 Westcliff Drive, Ste. 112, Newport Beach, 949.386.8100

Old Brea Chop House

Following two decades of steakhouse experience at Morton’s, restaurateur Tony Fasulo has opened this exquisite concept, designed by Hatch Design Group, where steaks and seafood are the star of the show. 180 S. Brea Blvd., Brea, 714.592.3122
